Spinbot.ORG respects the intellectual property rights of authors, publishers, creators, photographers, software companies, researchers, website owners, and other copyright holders.
We also expect visitors, contributors, and anyone interacting with our website to respect the intellectual property rights of others.
This Copyright and DMCA Policy explains ownership of material published on Spinbot.ORG, restrictions on republication, how we approach third-party material and fair-use considerations, and how copyright owners can report material they believe infringes their rights.
Because copyright laws differ between countries, this policy provides general procedures rather than legal advice.

Paraphrasing and Rewriting Do Not Automatically Remove Copyright Obligations
Spinbot.ORG publishes educational material about paraphrasing, rewriting, summarizing, content editing, and originality.
Those topics are intended to help readers write more responsibly.
Changing the wording of copyrighted material does not automatically give someone the right to republish it.
Copyright concerns may still exist even when:
- Words have been replaced with synonyms
- Sentences have been rearranged
- AI has rewritten the material
- A paraphrasing tool has been used
- The tone or style has been changed
- Parts of the original material have been summarized
Readers remain responsible for determining whether they have permission to use material and whether attribution, citation, licensing, or another legal basis is required.
Spinbot.ORG does not encourage users to disguise copied work or use rewriting techniques to avoid legitimate copyright obligations.
Plagiarism and Copyright Are Not the Same Thing
Spinbot.ORG discusses both plagiarism and copyright, but the concepts are different.
Plagiarism generally concerns presenting another person’s words or ideas as your own without appropriate acknowledgment.
Copyright concerns legal rights associated with protected creative works.
A use can raise plagiarism concerns even when it does not violate copyright, and copyright issues can arise even when the original creator has been credited.
Our educational articles should not be interpreted as legal advice about whether a particular use is lawful.
Fair Use and Other Copyright Exceptions
Copyright laws may allow certain limited uses of copyrighted material without permission.
For example, depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, exceptions or limitations may apply to activities such as criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching, research, quotation, or other qualifying uses.
Whether a particular use is permitted depends on the applicable law and the facts of the situation.
Mentioning concepts such as fair use on Spinbot.ORG does not mean that every educational, noncommercial, rewritten, or attributed use automatically qualifies.
When the legality of a proposed use matters, seek appropriate professional advice.
Third-Party Material Used on Spinbot.ORG
Spinbot.ORG may refer to or include limited third-party material where appropriate for purposes such as:
- Commentary
- Explanation
- Comparison
- Research
- Attribution
- Criticism
- Product discussion
- Educational context
We aim to use third-party material responsibly and provide attribution where appropriate.
If you own copyrighted material that appears on Spinbot.ORG and believe its use is unauthorized, please contact us.

Incomplete complaints may require additional information before we can properly evaluate them.
Formal DMCA Notices
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or DMCA, establishes a notice-and-takedown procedure under U.S. law for qualifying online service providers.
If Spinbot.ORG qualifies for and elects to rely on the applicable DMCA safe-harbor provisions, formal notices should comply with the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512.
A formal DMCA notice generally needs to include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or an appropriate representative list
- Identification and location of the allegedly infringing material
- Contact information reasonably sufficient to reach the complaining party
- A statement of good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed
Do not knowingly submit false or misleading copyright claims.
Important Note About Spinbot.ORG’s DMCA Agent
A formal U.S. DMCA safe-harbor process requires certain qualifying service providers to designate an agent for copyright notices, make the agent’s contact information publicly available, and register that designation with the U.S. Copyright Office.
Spinbot.ORG should not represent contact@spinbot.org as its officially registered DMCA agent unless the required designation has actually been completed.
Until a formal designated-agent process is established, copyright concerns may still be sent to contact@spinbot.org for review as general copyright complaints.
If a designated DMCA agent is registered in the future, this page should be updated with the agent’s correct name or department, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
How We Review Copyright Complaints
When we receive a sufficiently detailed copyright complaint, we may:
- Review the material identified
- Review the original source
- Request additional information
- Examine ownership or licensing information
- Temporarily restrict access where appropriate
- Remove material where warranted
- Replace or modify material
- Contact the person who supplied the material, where appropriate
- Decline a request when the available information does not establish a sufficient basis for removal
A copyright complaint does not automatically prove infringement.
We may consider relevant permissions, licenses, statutory exceptions, limitations, ownership disputes, or other circumstances before taking action where legally appropriate.
Counter-Notifications
Where material has been removed through a formal DMCA process and U.S. law provides a right to submit a counter-notification, the person who supplied the material may be able to challenge the removal if they believe it resulted from mistake or misidentification.
A compliant DMCA counter-notification generally includes:
- A physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the removed or disabled material
- The location where the material appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that there is a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification
- The person’s name, address, and telephone number
- The jurisdictional and service-of-process statements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512
Submitting a counter-notification can have legal consequences.
Anyone considering one should understand the applicable requirements and may wish to obtain legal advice.
Where the formal DMCA counter-notice procedure applies, U.S. law provides a process under which removed material may be restored after the required waiting period unless the original claimant initiates qualifying court action.
User-Submitted Content
Spinbot.ORG may allow users to submit material through:
- Contact forms
- Comments, if enabled
- Correction requests
- Guest contribution arrangements
- Partnership communications
- Other submission features
You should submit only material that you have the right to provide.
Do not submit copyrighted text, images, documents, graphics, photographs, or other material belonging to someone else unless you have permission or another lawful basis to use it.
Submitting material to us does not automatically transfer ownership of your original work to Spinbot.ORG.
However, when you specifically submit material for publication, display, review, or incorporation into website content, you authorize us to use the material to the extent reasonably necessary for that stated purpose, subject to any separate agreement that applies.
We may decline or remove submitted material if we believe it creates copyright, privacy, legal, security, or editorial concerns.
Images and AI-Generated Visuals
Spinbot.ORG may use original, licensed, properly sourced, or AI-assisted visual material.
AI-generated images can raise their own copyright, trademark, likeness, and licensing questions depending on how they are created and used.
We aim not to present third-party copyrighted images as our own work.
If you believe an image or visual published on Spinbot.ORG violates rights you own, provide the exact URL and information identifying the original work when submitting your complaint.
Repeat or Abusive Infringement
Where applicable to the services we operate, Spinbot.ORG may restrict submissions, accounts, comments, or access associated with repeated or serious copyright infringement.
We also reserve the right to reject notices that are clearly fraudulent, abusive, unrelated to copyright, or intended primarily to suppress legitimate criticism or factual reporting.
Knowingly false statements in formal copyright notices or counter-notices may carry legal consequences.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Copyright and DMCA Policy when:
- Website features change
- User-submission options change
- Our legal or business structure changes
- Copyright procedures change
- A formal DMCA agent is designated
- Applicable legal requirements change
- Clarification becomes necessary
When meaningful changes are made, the Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
